Published, independently published and unpublished manuscripts are all welcome. What we assess is cinematic potential — whether the story can carry a screen.
No. Northbridge Motion LLC is not a publishing company and never acts as one. We do not publish, edit, ghostwrite, print, market or distribute books, and we do not sell publishing packages. Our only business is representing books for adaptation into film, television, streaming, documentary and animation.
After evaluation, if we believe a project is viable we prepare it for the market and introduce it to producers, production companies, streamers and executives whose current mandate matches the material. We manage those conversations, report back to you, and support you through any resulting negotiation.
You receive written acknowledgement with a reference number. A reader is assigned and produces internal coverage. You then receive our assessment and, where the material is a fit, a recommended adaptation strategy and a proposed route to market.
Yes. You retain full copyright in your work at all times. Representation does not transfer ownership. Any option or purchase of adaptation rights is a separate agreement between you and the acquiring party, entered into only with your written consent and, we strongly recommend, your own legal counsel.
No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Adaptation decisions rest with buyers and depend on market conditions, slate priorities, financing and timing. What we guarantee is a professional evaluation, honest counsel and genuine, targeted introductions where the material warrants them.
Most evaluations are returned within two to three weeks of submission, with a median of around twenty-one days. Longer or more complex manuscripts can take additional time; if that applies to your project we will tell you in advance rather than let the date slide.
Yes. We accept submissions written in English from authors anywhere in the world, and we regularly consider material for territories beyond the United States. Rights position and territory availability are part of the assessment.
